As an American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) member, ESI shows our aptitude for asbestos testing and analysis.
- American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA)
- Airborne Fiber Analysis using Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM)
Asbestos analysis laboratories prove competency in airborne fiber concentration analysis through participation in the American Council of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) program administered by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). The AIHA Proficiency Analytical Testing (PAT) is a quarterly asbestiform fiber analysis proficiency program required to demonstrate competency in the analysis of airborne asbestiform fiber concentrations. PAT proficient labs maintain competency through analysis of characterized filters with specific fiber loadings.
The test method #7400 is mandated by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Airborne air monitoring sample analysis is required for personal / personnel exposure and negative exposure assessment of workers that may be exposed to asbestos by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Both personal / personnel and ambient air monitoring and analysis by PCM is required by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM), Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and many other State regulatory agencies during asbestos and other abatement projects.
As a longstanding AIHA member, ESI is committed to a healthy, hygienic and safe environment.
