Environmental Services’ building inspectors are professionals who understand buildings and building systems, having performed on-site inspections for literally thousands of buildings. Our documents are clear, concise and thorough; provide an easy way to show current information about your site; and are easily updated.
- HUD inspections, sampling, and analysis for lead, lead based paint and lead containing materials.
- Inspection, testing, and analysis for mercury, RCRA metals, radiation, hazardous and other toxic materials.
- Environmental Site Assessments including ASTM Phase I, II, and III for property transfer, refinancing, or management planning.
- ESI uses professional Licensed Building Inspectors who adhere to the requirements and regulations of the EPA, IL DPH (Illinois Department of Public Health), NESHAP/AHERA*, Wisc. DNR (Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources), IDEM (Indiana Department of Environmental Management).
- All accessible areas of the facility are inspected. The identified Asbestos-Containing Building Materials (ACBM) or (ACM) and the identified suspected ACBM are noted.
- Provide a complete and comprehensive inventory and condition assessment of the identified and suspect asbestos-containing building materials (ACBM) and friable and non-friable materials. The inventory is useful, practical and easily understood.
- Sampling of suspect and/or damaged materials for identification.
- Management Plan delineating response actions, budgets and timing.
- Provide the PLM and TEM analytical data report with the analysis of the sampled materials performed by a NVLAP certified laboratory.
- Prepare an AutoCAD floor plan drawing delineating the inspection information.
- Project Design is by a Licensed Project Designer for abating or maintaining identified ACBM.
- Two-hour awareness training for building staff and personnel.
NESHAP: Asbestos NESHAP specifies work practices to be followed during demolitions and renovations of all structures, installations and buildings (excluding residential buildings that have four or fewer dwelling units). In addition, the regulations require the owner of the building and/or the contractor to notify applicable State and local agencies and/or EPA Regional Offices before all demolitions, or before renovations of buildings that contain a certain threshold amount of asbestos.
AHERA: This rule requires all private and public non-profit elementary and secondary schools to inspect their schools for asbestos containing building materials (ACBM), develop a plan to manage the asbestos in each school building, notify parents and staff regarding the management plan availability, provide asbestos awareness training to school maintenance and custodial workers, and implement timely actions (repair, encapsulation, enclosure, removal) to deal with dangerous asbestos situations.
