Water Treatment
Environmental Services, Inc. (ESI) was contracted to assess the client’s wastewater treatment system after they experienced wastewater discharge violations. ESI evaluated their manufacturing processes and current wastewater treatment control system to determine problem areas. ESI’s engineering staff then designed a treatment system that enabled the client to comply with the applicable industrial discharger regulations. The new system design also accommodates future wastewater treatment requirements so that they become integral to a planned facility expansion, increased plant production and product processing changes.
Additionally, ESI was contracted to develop a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). Designed to prevent storm water from being contaminated by plant activities or practices, the SWPPP helps the client to comply with the NPDES General Permit, which requires businesses to take active measures to ensure storm water quality flowing from their property to storm drains or receiving bodies of water. The plan includes the evaluation of facilities and activities, recommendations of Best Management Practices (BMPs) that the client may employ to prevent pollution, potential physical modifications for drainage and retention, the development of a Spill Prevention, Containment and Countermeasures Plan (SPCCP), employee education and a complete monitoring program.
